Routine Appointments
The way to see your doctor is by booking a routine appointment. Surgery consultations are by appointment only. Urgent cases will be seen the same day and routine appointments will be given at the first available time. Appointments are held each day for 'urgent' requests.
We do try to keep to time with our appointments but, on occasion, delays are unavoidable.
If you are more than 10 minutes late we will ask you to re-book or you may be able to wait until the end of surgery. This is to avoid making everyone after you late as well.
This may seem unfair where the doctor has kept you waiting for other appointments but all the patients who have turned up on time will be delayed if the doctor sees you now. Our receptionists will always try to help so please work with them.
Your doctor will only be able to deal with one (maybe two) problems at each consultation, so please do not save them up. Please let us know if you are unable to keep an appointment.
Telephone Consultation & Advice
You can request a telephone consultation with your GP where you feel that this is all that is needed. Often the receptionist will arrange for the doctor to phone you. Telephone advice can be useful for a number of problems. The doctor may phone you back at the end of surgery.
