Nurses

Our Practice Nurse Claire, supported by Fran our Health care Assistant, runs a number of weekly clinics for Diabetes, Asthma, Blood Pressure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Chronic Heart Disease and encourage patients to come for regular checks to help monitor general health.

Practice Management

Paul Mugford
He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre. If you have any complaint, criticism, suggestions or praise he is the person to contact. He will be happy to meet with you or talk to you at the telephone. Your views are always welcome and valued in order to help us provide the best possible service.

Administration

Christine Davis and Sally Joy provide the secretarial back-up for the doctors and operate as Personal Assistants. Working closely with the doctors means that they can often deal with your enquiries on behalf of the doctors, particularly when it relates to referrals or hospital admissions. If you need to talk to the secretaries it helps if you ring after 9.00 am.

Reception

Kate, Lucy, Eileen, Lisa and Lisa J are our team of receptionists. They book appointments for the doctors and handle all requests for repeat prescriptions. They will always do their best to answer any questions that you may have. Sometimes they will need to ask you for further details in order to assess how best they can help you. Please help them to help you. All of our Surgery staff will respect your privacy and are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.

Community Nurses

A team of nurses headed up by Sister Julie Hall. If you are unable to attend the surgery for essential nursing care, the District Nurses may visit you at home. This is subject to assessment and we always recommend that you attend the Medical Centre if you can. The nurses are available from 8.30 – 5pm: telephone 0117 9878346 and leave a message and telephone number. The nurses will then contact you.

Health Visitors

Health visitors hold a drop-in Child Health Clinic for children 0-5 years of age, on Wednesdays from 9.15am to 11.30am at the Early Years Centre (opposite the Health Centre). You can also call at The Withywood Centre 9-30 to 12.30 and 1-30pm to 4.30pm. Tel: 0117 9878325

BIG NEWS

The beginning of August will be a very busy time for the practice as we are having a new computer system installed, this will involve some down time for the whole of the computer system and a lot of work for the staff. We ask that if you will require a repeat prescription in the first two weeks of August please arrange this at the end of July, we will try to keep interruptions to a minimum but please be patient with the staff when they are trying to help you as things may be very slow to start with.
